I am a psychoanalyst working within the Lacanian tradition, based in Aldershot, North Hampshire. My aim is to offer you a very special type of space within which you can talk freely about what’s troubling you and in a way that works best for you.
My approach starts from the position that however distressed you may be feeling, there is always a good reason for it, and one that must be taken seriously. The work of analysis is not to get rid of your ‘problems’ as soon as possible, but rather to explore and work through them in order for you to gain a better understanding of where they come from and how they function in your life.
I have a particular interest in working with trauma, which can manifest itself in a variety of ways including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and dissociation. I also have knowledge and experience of working with medically unexplained symptoms (also known as psychosomatic disorders) and a range of other complex psychological problems.
